Knowledge & Advice

Property legislation is under constant review. In 1997 we saw major changes in the introduction of The Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority, all of which affected the relationships and duties of landlords and tenants.

More changes were introduced in late 2011 which included increasing the maximum amount payable by a Landlord for urgent repairs from $1,000 to $1,800; the regulation of Residential Tenancy Databases and changes to a Landlords/Agents obligations.

At First National Latrobe we are fully conversant with such legislation are able to advise you on any changes affecting property issues within the rental market.

Disputes between landlords and tenants do occur on occasions, but if handled professionally and diplomatically, they can be resolved efficiently and effectively.  At First National Latrobe, your property manager will mediate between landlord and the tenant, to resolve the issue.
